Planning and holding a large wedding isn’t for everyone. Grace and Paul realized that once we were halfway through the planning process. Covid restrictions notwithstanding, they decided to change to an intimate family micro wedding which just suited them better.
So off we went to get them a new location and new wedding plan.
They always wanted something seaside and Co Cork held a special place in their and their families’ hearts. The initial plan was in Kinsale but the final fantastic plan took them all to Bantry and the stunning Bantry House. A gorgeous seaside, Historic country manor house
Their Story
The couple grew up together and were friends since they were kids. The romance however, started when Paul asked Grace to be his date for his sister’s wedding. After “the best wedding date ever” their fate was sealed.
Their families knew each other well, they came from the same background and small town. All had Irish heritage and a love for Ireland. This group had so many sentimental touches in the day which you will see along the way in the stunning photos by Adrian from Stay Wild Images
The prep
It was a beautiful relaxed morning as the group got ready, all ladies had hair done by Laura from Hair Play and makeup done by Marilyn McSweeney .
I brought the flowers, gorgeous as usual by Jill Wild and opened the sparkling wine {which I do well!}.
The Ceremony
Grace and Paul’s seafront outdoor wedding ceremony with Bantry House in the background also contained many personal touches, from the Bridesmoms, family bible, handfasting ceremony performed by their parents, personal vows and Irish whisky barrel first toast.
Wedding dinner
After the ceremony, the families had a few drinks and canapes while the couple when for their photoshoot around the lush grounds of the property. Following that, an intimate wedding dinner awaited them all. The evening was complete with a sweet wedding cake and first dances.
The change of plans worked so well for them and no one could even imagine it any other way.
