Summer Camp Wedding

This is just about the most super creative and personal wedding I have seen in, gosh, I don’t’ know how long. Ever maybe? Let me set the scene.

This is Trishia & Justin’s wedding with all of the details perfectly captured by Jodi & Kurt {totally adorable in their own right} of Jodi Miller Photography.

Trishia + Justin had their wedding at The Nature Camp outside of Lexington, VA in the US of A where  Trishia had grown up going to summer camp. An ideal spot for their rustic wedding, they incorporated so many woodland elements, from the flowers to the little forest animals scattered throughout their wedding {wait til you see those!}.  They even had a wedding logo that symbolized them…two racoons, one with glasses, the other with a bow.  The logo was incorporated everywhere and it completely summed up their wedding.  Enjoy this incredible couple and their amazing DIY details!

Instead of a unity symbol, they opted to do something a little bit different.  They had a wooden box made and filled it with a bottle of whiskey and two love letters.  The box is supposed to symbolize their love when it was at its peak and whenever they go through a rough patch with their marriage, they can open the box, drink the whiskey and read the love letters they wrote to each other and reflect on why they fell in love.  The hope is that they never have to open the box, which is why they had their closest family and friends help seal the box during the ceremony. Love that!

Trishia made this curtain of flowers herself using recycled soda bottles. Great backdrop, eco friendly and wow!

So wonderful. This is certainly much cooler than any camp I went to as a kid!
