From Pinterest to Reality

I know you are on Pinterest. Pinning everything lovely and tasty and things to keep you fit. I also know you are using it to plan your wedding. It’s such a great tool and vital to me for working with and styling for destination brides.

So what I’m going to do is a little series of blog posts on how the vision and images on Pinterest became a real wedding.

First up is Kati and George’s wedding.

Kati knew what she wanted from the start which is a great beginning. It was going to be very elegant with the bridesmaids in black cocktail dresses {which always look amazing} and white, cream and super soft blush florals with lace accents and lots of candlelight.

She had sent me some images which I uploaded onto her board and then added some of my own. I also shared the link of the board with the florist and baker so they could really see the style she was going for as a whole.

So this is Kati’s full Pinterest board that I created her and so you can see it all together, here are some screen grabs.

Pinterest for weddings collection of wedding ideas

We used champagne colored table cloths and I made a lace runner to go the lengh of the table with some {believe it or not} lace net curtains from the local shop which I paid fifty cents per metre for.  Always always keep your eye out for bargains and how you can use them!

We added some mercury glass vases, mercury candle holders,  added lovely extra tall taper candles in shiny silver single holders, sprayed a few candle sticks gold and laid it all out. Don’t be afraid to mix metals.

Kati had her menus printed at home so we just popped them into the napkins and put her luggage tag favours on the side place and stood back to admire our work! {that is the best part}

And so here are the real  images of Kati’s wedding and how it all turned out!

OOh and photos are by David McCelleland who is always a pleasure to work with and you can see more images here.

Extra thanks for Kati and George’s wedding decor has to go to Trish from A Touch of Magic for the stunning and yummy lace designed cake and Floral Creations in Dunmanway for the flowers and working so well with me and a great result.

And here is just a little photo of me in action just finishing up and a happy couple photo to end the post. : -)
