Fairytale Wedding

Lily and Devin do things big. They are adventurous and  fun and once they make a decision on something they make it happen.

Devin proposed to Lily by hiring a 45 foot long billboard on the side of the highway in America. That is big! Their wedding plans were big and their wedding was full of activities and surprises for their guests.

The wedding ceremony and reception were held at Dromoland Castle. A stunning location so Lily didn’t worry about the décor and put her thought into creating a day and full week that her guests would never forget.

Upon their arrival in the country, they and their friends hopped on boats for self drive Shannon River cruises. Not only that, but a scavenger hunt was organized over those few days with the winning boat announced at the reception.  Great competition between everyone.

The Ceremony took place outside facing the castle with surprises on the day including the groom arriving to the outdoor ceremony on horseback, the bride arriving in a horse and carriage, the rings were delivered by an owl {yes, an owl!}, the aforementioned 45 foot billboard was there too, and a casino was the evening’s entertainment.

Here are a few photos taken by the wonderful and fun Camryn and Ben Holt who flew over from America to shoot the fairytale wedding.

During the drinks reception the guests basked in the sunshine, enjoyed drinks and a falconry display with a few of the amazing birds they keep at Dromoland.

After that, the party was started. And I mean started! Lily and Devin did their first dance before dinner and the guests danced throughout the meal in between courses before the Casino opened and more dancing afterwards.

The excellent and kind staff at Dromoland didn’t know what hit them! – but I must say they rolled with the flow of the day and were completely accommodating.

Thanks again to all of the staff at Dromoland Castle, to Camryn and Ben for letting me show the photos, to Rebecca May, Mark from Dublin DJs for keeping them dancing all night!, Sean at Dromoland for the Carriage, Dave ad Dromoland for the birds, Tom from Premier Casino and Richard and Les from Frame It Weddings for this great video of the day.

And last but not least, thanks so much to Lily and Devin for letting me share in making your day so fantastic! Congratulations!
