First thing Tuesday morning I noted on my Facebook page that I was heading into Dingle to meet Niamh O’Kennedy the Marketing Manager at Murphy’s Ice Cream. I had been in the shop before, knew it was nice, had the ice cream before and knew it 
was yummy, knew they did a great selection of Fairtrade coffees, knew the cakes were delectable, knew that all types of awards had been won by Kieran and Sean, but I must admit didn’t really know what a great surprise I was in for.
The shop was a hub of activity; a great buzz, full of fun and yummy things like, can you believe they have 3 different kinds of hot chocolate?!? – Sorry, 4. Four kinds of hot chocolate. You can get a scoop of ice cream with a shot of espresso to pour over the top. I loved that one! Then there are the desserts made for two (so romantic), Sundaes, Banana splits, shakes, truffles and did I mention chocolate? Hold on……………………….their “Warning! Dangerous Chocolate” its Chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings, and fresh cream.
So with all that, I was even more delighted to learn all Murphy’s has to offer for weddings too. Lookie here:
Pink Champagne sorbet
I’ll touch on the basics first, Murphy’s will deliver the ice cream flavor of your choice to your hotel or venue to serve as or with your dessert. Imagine your chocolate wedding cake with Irish Coffee Ice Cream or your lemon madeira with Raspberry Sorbet, your carrot cake with Burnt Carmel Ice Cream! OMG I could go on and on!
They also do an elegant, refreshing and delish Pink Champagne Sorbet which is perfect for a wedding. Serve it in old fashioned champagne saucers.
While I am going on, Murphy’s also does wedding cakes. Weibke who does all the wonderful baking will sit down with 
you and talk over your desires and create one especially for you. Serve her delectable Chocolate Fudge Cake with Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur Ice Cream or Real Mint Ice cream. – you see I am going on……………..
Not to stop there though, imagine coming out of your summer ceremony and Murphy’s there to distribute individual ice cream tubs (with spoons) to your guests. You can get their 125 ml tubs in a multitude of flavors and packaged in blank tubs for you to put your own personalized label (think Monograms!) on them.
You can also arrange to have these after dinner with the evening food or instead of the evening food to cool down after all the dancing action.
I almost forgot the Ice Cream Cake. Yes. Ice Cream. Cake. For your wedding. They can do it and you can display it and it is soo good.
So, I think you should have a look at their website, drool a bit and head on down to Dingle. –Or Killarney, I suppose. But, Yeah, head on down to Dingle.
