Bridal Bonzie

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

Fashion and style. That is what everyone wants to project on their wedding day. And you should! The new trend is be yourself and what is more yourself than your own fashion sense and style. So if you are looking for that little something a little different try Irish based {yea!!} Bonzie. For you and your ‘maids!

Bonzie is a fashion label with a difference. Bonzie is a bit vintage, a bit steampunk {and if you don’t know what that is you had better google it fast. Can you say up and coming???}, very romantic and unique. Ooh and handmade. They do boleros, jackets, corsets, brooches bags and more! Have a look here at their style and tell me if it is yours!

Boleros up first. And I have to say that I wish I had a selection like this when I got married.

And wraps {they are backless}

And how about this jacket and skirt

And amazing corsets

And various accessories

If you want to see more, Bonzie can be found many places online. They have a website, an Etsy shop, a blog and a Facebook page. And if you are in Waterford, {Bonzie Designs, Kite Design Studio, 11 Henrietta St, Viking Quarter, Waterford City, Ireland}call into them directly!

Me likey!

White By Vera Wang

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

Vera Wang White collection with David’s Bridal is out!

The announcement was last April and I have to say I was skeptical. It’s Vera Wang! – and David’s Bridal? But of course the gowns are beautiful. They aren’t cheap. Don’t think that just because David’s bridal is your basic wedding gown chain store that these are going to be cheap. They have the same luxe fabrics and and hand cut detail and priced from $600 to the $1400 mark. We now don’t have to be afraid to even walk into the store.  You know the ole ‘if you have to ask you can’t afford it’ is over.

This puts Vera in the range of a normal bride. Beautiful but affordable.

Here they are available from 11th February. Tell me what you think!!

There are definitely one or two in there I would choose. What about you??

Have a look in more detail here.

Wedding Dress Artwork

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Some more wedding dresses today {I did say I had a bit of a theme going this week} but of a different kind.

Recently I have gotten really into sketches of wedding gowns. I’ve collected some images of designer sketches that I plan to have printed and put on my {soon to be} newly redecorated office walls. I love the elegance and simplicity of them.

But lookie here! Ailbhe and Jane from Pretty as a Picture does custom wedding dress paintings so you can have one done of your own wedding gown. Yes, real and proper artwork. What a wonderful memory.  I think they are just gorgeous and want one for my wall! Even someone else’s, I don’t care! I love em! Here are more.

Simply stunning. And the talent doesn’t’ stop there. As Graphic Designers as well as artists, Ailbhe and Jane create bespoke and personalized portraits of you, your pets, other fashion and for weddings, unique wedding invitations, letterpress invitations and stationery. Super super stylish and really fab. Here is a quick look at those {oh dear, I’m going on a stationery tangent now}

I really didn’t mean to put in the invites but couldn’t help it. There is such a wide range of things these girls can do. go have a look yourself at everything on their website here Pretty as a Picture.

Thanks Ailbhe and Jane for the creations and letting me share!
