Maybe I’m a bit late with this but in the same turn, maybe you weren’t paying attention to Bridal Market 2012. As busy as I was I still had to check in!
So even if you were paying attention, here is a summary of the trends by the bridal designers this year as I saw it. {and loved it}.
Everything seemed really glamorous and dramatic. There were still vintage touches by those who do it so well {Jenny Packham and Claire Pettibone} but in general lots of everything in extra portions. Ballgowns were big, trumpet or mermaid bottoms we saw a lot of and even the sheath or straight gowns were extra sexy. Not many strictly A-line gowns.

Laser Cut Skirts – You know the look, very Vera. This look is more modern than a ruffled gown {although there were still plenty of ruffles!}

Corset tops – Again this corset is much more modern than what we had thought about corsets. They used corset tops with straight skirts and ballgown skirts.

Showing a little leg – More glamorous short dresses and slinky gowns with thigh high slits

Tulle and illusion. Illusion tops, backs and shoulders.

Feather- All over. On skirts, straps. Sometime not even real feathers but very softly cut tulle. Certainly the feeling of lightness.

Silhouettes were of course, all shapes to suit but you can see that the trumpet or mermaid shape was a big one {for the lucky girls who can wear it!}

Color – {my fave ones} Dramatic like Vera Wang’s black stunners or subtle touches of color. How much color is too much for you? Is just not wearing pure white still color?

And notice how many of the designers used a lot of the design elements above together and you get the full feeling of the Fall 2012 collections.
Which one will you wear?
