Annie the Domestic Goddess

Monday, December 20th, 2010

I just found out that my meetings this week have been canceled because of the weather. It’s a shame because there was lots to do but now I can begin my rise to Domestic Goddessness a bit earlier than expected.

My love of paper products means I go all out with the gift wrap and normally go with a color scheme when wrapping all of my gifts. I think it’s important. A gift should look beautiful and desirable on the outside. This year I am going with silver, purples and pinks after finding the coolest sparkly and metallic gift wrapping paper {there was a fabulous selection this year!}. Some are wrapped already but I have more to do and have yet to find the perfect ribbon. I’ll show you those once they are finished.

Food? I am off baking soon so I can send off cookies and bits to the neighbors along with their cards. On the sweets menu this year is

Maple Pecan Shortbread Squares

Cranberry Orange Muffins – adapted from a cake recipe

Chocolate Rum Balls – strictly for adults

Cinnamon Rolls – my first attempt. My mother used to make them every Christmas and I always loved them! We will see how that goes……

Cranberry and Pistachio Biscotti – aren’t they beautiful?

And maybe these. I thought they sounded really interesting and festive

Eggnog Thumbprint Cookies

I may do some sort of Snickerdoodles and chcolate cookie too.

Wish me luck and tell me what your menu is!!

P.S. Those of you who know me will recognize how laughable the title of this blog post really is.
