Trash the Dress
I have been holding on to these photos from Ian Tate Photography for a little while now but thought today was the perfect day to post them. You can just feel the sunshine and warmth through the photos on a day that must have been very much like today.
This was a “Trash the dress” shoot that Ian shot in a wheat field near Hillsborough, Northern Ireland. What a stunning location.
You may or may not be familiar with these which are also sometimes referred to as “Rock the Frock”. They began in the US (not surprising) in the late 90’s and have increased in popularity in Ireland.
While the name may put some brides off the idea, it doesn’t necessarily have to mean destroying the dress that you’ve spent time and money on. These trash the dress shoots give you a great excuse to put on your fabulous dress again with your hubby (or on your own) and have some fun with the result of more relaxed and fantastic photos. Normally (as long as you don’t go too crazy) the dress is fine after a dry cleaning. It is a style of photography that portrays a contrast between elegant clothing in an environment that is out of place, generally shot in a fashion photography style.
You may like to do a quick search on the net to see a very diverse range of styles and ideas linked with this session, ranging from paint-balling to swimming in the sea.
The shots below were taken by Ian Tate Photography in Northern Ireland, they represent the opposite end of the scale of the “TTD” session.
Feel the sunshine!
