Creative Cufflinks

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

For gifts or for fun, you could go crazy with all the styles of mens cuff links and I love it! Think about what he is like. What does he really like? What are his quirks? Secret {and possibly embarrassing} infatuations?

He can choose for himself, you could give them to him as a gift, or what about a pair for each of the groomsmen? in their own unique style?

Here are a few I found with a quick search and we will start with a little bit of Irishness:

Add a bit of personality:

And these, not funky or very creative but wow. When you wear platinum and yellow diamond cufflinks you KNOW it is a special occasion!

Did you see any there that may suit him? Because I left out the Pac man ones, all of the other Star Wars ones {loads of them!}, the nintendo ones, all of the jeweled ones, the sports ones, medieval ones, the cars……….oh my gosh, too many to show. So remember, Christmas is coming………………

Thinking of Proposing?

Friday, September 17th, 2010

About a third of all marriage proposals taking place over Christmas and the New Year, so if you are going to pop the question now is the time to begin thinking about the ring and how you are going to do it.

I’ll start with things for you to think about.

Firstly, I love surprise engagements. You totally set her up and she had no idea!! Now, you know her best, but I suggest to keep it simple. The more involved, the more can go wrong. Because where are you going to hide a mariachi band?

So you need a plan and you have to look at yourself for this too. If you think your nerves will get to you then a public proposal should be out of the questions.

Do you want to choose a sentimental location or make an ordinary occasion, place or activity special forever after?  Walking the dog on the beach can be as romantic as the top of the Eiffel Tower.

If you want to take her away for a weekend but you rarely go away, make some excuse – meeting friends who will be in that location or fake a celebration. Or do it on her birthday or say that work has been a lot lately and you just need to get away.

Who can you recruit to help you? Can you trust friends and family to keep their mouths shut? Or is it possible that you tell them at the last minute? Hotels and restaurants are always willing to help with a proposal set up.

Have a look at these simple surprise proposals caught on camera. – which is also a great idea. And you can see it doesn’t have to be elaborate.

As photographed by Aaron Shintaku and this one as photographed by Joe Elario and here is a good article on Marriage porposal do’s and don’ts.

Good luck and get creative!

Modern Menswear

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Y esterday I showed you the traditional menswear for weddings but today I want to twist that up a bit. These are a bit more modern, more fun and mostly more casual and while I wouldn’t suggest these for a super formal evening wedding, I think pushing  the boundaries is good and you really have to if you want to show a bit of personality don’t you?

Also important is attitude. How your man {and his men} wear the suits and tuxedos. How they mix them up a bit. Take some things away {ie. the suit jacket} and add a few things {ie. argyle socks, waistcoats, suspenders}.

Tell me what you think of these:

I reckon this is white tie casual or white tie with cool attitude!

Here is a twist on the traditional morning suit. Add a variety of colors and textures

And I just love him this suit!

The bow ties but not being all matchy matchy is what makes these guys cool

So I hope you liked those and got some ideas and inspiration on how to change things up a bit from the traditional!
