Saturday Quickie

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

Last Wednesday I did a little post about ladies loungewear. You know, the pretty little ‘good morning world!’ kind of comfy and pretty stuff you can wear while getting ready on your wedding day.

That post featured some super lovely loungewear by Plum Pretty Sugar, but what I didn’t show you that time was the really sweet and fun bow tie and pocket square collection they have for men.  In cotton or silk, if the whimsical bow tie look is what you are going for on your wedding day be sure to check these out! Love ‘em!

Those are just a garden party waiting to happen!

The Boutonieres

….or Buttonholes as they call them over here. – a name I have happily adopted because I can’t spell boutoniere.

Have you thought about them? How about this one?

It’s pretty isn’t it?

But I would put money on the fact that you have seen nearly that exact one before. Maybe the color was different. Possibly the exact color as the bridesmaids dresses or the guys ties? Of course.

Well for heavens sake put a little thought into it! Change it up! Make them as origional as your man. Even ask him his opinion – maybe just ask him if he has an opinion.

Look how fun and still pretty the buttonhole {aka boutinnere} can be.

Tie it up

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Let’s talk about the men!

About half of my grooms are very involved and the ones that aren’t? Well, they aren’t. But whether they are into it or not, they should show a sense of style.

Bow ties are great for adding a personality to an everyday suit or funky tux. But if yours is like mine, he’ll need a little bit of help.

For example, this is a no. And if I knew how to do the big red O with the line through it I would!

And this is a yes, please!

Here are a few more really good, fun and stylish options for men’s bow ties because a bit of geek chic is actually really on trend.  And I love them!

How about those?!? but do you know how to tie them?

Lastly, a note, I have had that great image of the groom and groomsmen for quite a while and didn’t index it properly. I know it was from a fab photographer so email me and I’ll totally give you credit.
