I’m an all American girl {you know, apple pie and all that} so I do love the Pie tables that some of the American weddings are having. You know, it’s just like a candy display or sweets or cake disply but with all American Pies!

I think this is a perfect idea for a country, rustic or autumn wedding. But don’t forget the a la mode!

A little while back I tweeted a fresh herb bouquet that I just couldn’t resist and have been thinking a lot more about using herbs in weddings.
You really can’t get more fresh feeling and fragrant than using herbs all over the place. I also have a bride in the spring with a wedding at Ballymaloe and if you know anything about Ballymaloe then you know the place is all about fabulous food {and it’s a beautiful spot!} so I’m thinking herb would be just fantastic there! – Thankfully my bride agrees.
Here are a few of my thoughts and inspiration on that.
This is just adorable and I love anything that hangs. These would make great pew ends, hanging on the backs of chairs, on doors, just anywhere! A great and easy DIY project, see how to make them here.
How pretty and simple for buttonholes, or flower girls because many herbs to flower.
So many types of centerpieces and colors. Did you know you can get purple basil?

Work them into your invitations
That doesn’t even begin to show how you can use packets of seeds as favours, or newly sproutted herbs in mini pots.
Herbs also have meaning and symbolic representations like many flowers which is also a lovely thought to send your guests home with. For example:
Rosemary – for remembrance, Oregano – happiness, Myrtle – represents true love and the herb of the goddess of love, Venus. She used this herb’s blossoms to fashion crowns and garlands for her followers to wear. Ivy – symbolizes fidelity, Marjoram – the herb of joy, happiness and marital bliss. Angelica – for protection, Sweet basil -for good wishes, Sage – representing domestic virtue, Mint – wisdom, Thyme – for courage and strength, Lavender represents love and Violets – for faithfulness.
