Cocktail Classes

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Oh my gosh.  I was out of commission most of yesterday because I did a cocktail tasting and lesson with Paul Lambert of Mixo Logic. Fun, of course, cocktails always are! But also informative. It seems once you get a basic formula of how to mix drinks you are off! And experimentation is encouraged!

I’ll give you some of his credits because I’m sure he himself doesn’t want to boast {and I am summarizing}:

Paul has over 15 years experience in great bars like Kelly’s Hotel, Rosslare, Sheen Falls Lodge, Kenmare, Gleneagles Resort in Scotland, Diep le Shaker, and currently at the Award Winning SABA in Dublin.

He has appeared on TV and radio and written for many trade and social magazines and has been credited with making one of the best Gin Martinis in the world – which I have tasted and if I wasn’t’ a vodka martini girl, I would have to say is pretty darn good. {By the way he did make me a vodka martini and I certainly had no difficulty finishing it!}

And he has won a host of awards. The list is too long for me here so head on over to Mixo-Logic

So enough about Paul himself. What can he do for you?

How about a hen party with a difference? Mix, make and create your own cocktails and/or come up with the signature cocktail for your wedding that not only tastes good but is in your wedding colors. He does wedding drinks receptions with flair adding that extra edge with expert mixologists and provides portable bars or varying size to fit your event and can even show you how to organize a boys and girls cocktail stations at your wedding. Manhattans for the boys and martinis for the girls {those are just my simple suggestions and then I could move between the two!}. Mixo-logic also has an online shop where you can find all of the items and fun bits you need for your home bar or upcoming party. Great gifts for Bridal showers too.

Lastly, I hope you will excuse my typos as although this post is going out today {Thursday} it was written just after the lesson. Oops. So my final word, if you do have a cocktail lesson with Paul and it is in the morning or afternoon, leave yourself free for the rest of the day.

Aren’t cocktails fun? You can personalize, colourize and customize them just like all great details in your wedding. But can we move on from the Cosmo? And the Mojito? Yes they are good (really good actually!) but you can personalize, colourize and customize!

What are your wedding colours? Did you take a holiday and find a new favourite drink?cocktail1

You can find or create new cocktails to reflect your personalities and experiences or just create an atmosphere. Some cocktails and punches can be lower in alcohol or non alcoholic but still fun and there is one for everyone……………

Is your Husband-to-be an Absolute Hunk? Then Absolute Vanilla, simple syrup, fresh lime and a splash of pineapple juice is your man!

Do you want a Kiss on the Lips? I bet you do! Peach schnapps, Mango puree and Grenadine is the job for you!
