usic is not my strong point. I admit it. I know a good band when I hear one, I can see who keeps the dance floor full and can hire good reputable musicians of course, but I don’t know the tunes and it’s something I have to work on. Luckily music is a very personal thing and I don’t get asked very often for suggestions. But it can be hard for some people. If you don’t have a sentimental song for your first dance you have to find on. Same if you are doing a Father Daughter dance or Mother Son dance {both of which I really like because I know it means a lot the parents}.
So I will direct you to a few good resources that will have you singing and reminiscing for this Saturday afternoon.
Hi-Fi Weddings has a great list of A – Z songs in all genres and you can listen to most of them right there and then.
Soundtrack To I Do has songs listed under style and purpose. From bridal processional to mother son dance, father daughter dance and more. You can listen to them and create a play list right there.
The Knot has a good list too but what I suggest is in the months before your wedding, start jotting down the names of songs that mean something to you. Look through your MP3 player and take down ideas. They will come to you.
Get dancing!

Good resources
If you’re really unsure and have no set preference I’d also suggest asking the band you’ve booked for ideas, as generally they’ve been around the block and will know what works well !
Happy dancing!
