So there I was cruisin’ the net and came across Polka Dot Bride. Ms. Polka is an Australian wedding inspiration blog and as I perused her site I went into the Made section which is basically the DIY bit with really fun ideas.
I especially loved the engagement party Katie and Morgan had in their back yard in Sydney and all of their fun and sweet ideas. Ms. Polka said I could share so here are my fav ideas and the story behind them.
Katie and Morgan said their style inspiration was “simple, a little country picnic style with a red & orange colour theme and a M+K= {heart} theme” and they made their invitations to fit with the relaxed and fun style they wanted.
Katie and Morgan set up games around the yard with chalkboard signs and Katie designed and made her own Twister game with fun bright fabrics with the intention on using the mat for picnics together later. Sweet and planning ahead!
They had Hop scotch
And instead of a guest book they set up a photo booth and asked their guests to write them little notes and hang them up.
I really like this one. They had straws with flags for guests to write their names on so they never lost their drinks!
