I often ask my brides what they would do for their wedding if they threw out every preconceived notion of what weddings are.

The answer of course always includes a beautiful meaningful ceremony (after all this is what it is all about), and a celebration afterwords. Celebrations these days always seem to be big but I love the idea of a simple Champagne and cake reception after the ceremony.
I got to thinking about this again after reading a post on Project Wedding with lovely photos by Mary Swenson about just that.
