Ah roses! The flower of love and I would guess the most popular wedding flower {one thing I don’t have stats on}.
But there are over100 species of rose and we are seeing a lot of them these days. And not only do the different shapes have different names but so do the colors. Seriously it’s mindboggling.
So this is what we think of a standard lovely red roses:
These are: L-R Black Magic Rose, Luna Rosa, Black Bacarra
And that is just the begining! The trend for flowers has moved to more volumous, bushy, fluffy blooms along the lines of peonies but peonies are roses too! So I’ll try to show you some that you may have heard of but couldn’t recognize or have seen and wondered what they are. As you will see though, often other than the color, the differences are very subtle.
Beware of prettyness ahead!
Again, some have very subtle differences, but any faves so far?
Then finally, just a bit wrong is this:
Hand Dyed Rose {yes, you pick the color}
Florists please correct me if I got any of those wrong {as could very well be the case}. Images and names came from this source .

I had never heard of the Metropole peony rose. I’ll have to check into that as a substitute when peonies are not in season.
