Romantic Rustic Barn Wedding in Ireland

A barn wedding with great food, lots of drink and a great band is what Kate and Billy wanted. It didn’t take us long to place them into the Grainstore at Kilruddery House. Rustic but elegant and romantic with the barn, great grounds and a stunning main house it was the obvious choice for their early autumn wedding.

Kate and Billy were married at St Marys Church, Enniskerry where after a traditional ceremony the sun came out so the guests could follow our couple walking in to the village pub for a few drinks. After all of the congratulations, a little food and a few drinks there, the bridal party were swept off for photos on the stunning grounds and Orangerie of their breath-taking reception venue Kilruddery House.

Their wedding was a true celebration of family with images of Kate, Billy and their loved ones dotted throughout the grain store during their reception. We made a table plan display out of an old wood palette where an Irish Blessing was placed beside a map of New York which read “Life is an Adventure”.

There was such a fun, loving energy at this wedding. Note the Funfetti cake! Kate and Billy really captured the essence of natural and rustic with bales of hay and all!

Kate looked amazing in her romantic dress and was able to dance the night away comfortably in her Toms shoes while Billy opted for a classic charcoal suit with white shirt and ivory tie. They looked gorgeous. They ARE gorgeous!

A great day was had by all and I need to thank Adele Miley Makeup, Camilia with Austen Florists, The Cake Café, and especially thanks so much to the brilliant David McElland Photography for {hanging out with me at dinner and} sharing the beautiful images with us today!

Elegant White and Yellow Up Wedding

Morgan and Karl wanted an elegant wedding with a nod to Disney and especially the movie Up. To be honest, it took a while for me to get my head around it and I did have to watch the movie again {all in the name of research and what a great movie!} and in the end, a few Disney touches here and there over the day were really special and fun.

Having a very busy job, and a huge work project due just days before they left California for their destination wedding in Ireland, Morgan entrusted Karl {and me} with most of the planning.

She wanted simple  but elegant white flowers and fun touches with yellow billy balls pulling in the happy yellow bridesmaids dresses. For the flowers, we kept a lot of texture in them and no greenery. On the tables, each arrangement was done with one flower pulled tightly together which is a look that I love. We used peonies, hydrangea, roses and carnations {yes!}.

All in all the day was all she wanted. A beautiful, elegant but fun intimate wedding with family and friends.

The venue was Tankardstown House, the photographer was Darek Smietana and Bee’s Flowers did all of the lovely floral arrangements.

What a beautiful day it was!

Soft and Elegant in the West of Ireland

From the start it was about getting the best for Kelsey. That was all Angus cared about. He really had the vision for how the day should go along with the style and formality of the day. He was the perfect English gentleman taking care of his American rose. Even his groomsmen and ushers were there to serve her and everyone understood that and fell in.  Chivalry is certainly not dead!

And Kelsey and Angus are extraordinary together. Apart, the feeling you get from each is subdued, but when they are together, the energy between them is amazing and vibrant. They absolutely glow and that reflects off of each of them for the other. I’ve never seen anything like it {and TBH I think you can even see it in the photos here}

They chose Doonbeg Lodge in Co Clare in the West of Ireland as the location for their destination wedding as they are both keen golfers. Following that, I came on board and organized The French Touch to do Kelsey’s flowers. Kelsey’s  mother was my main contact for all of the decor and with grays, super soft pinks and touches of pale lavender Earl Grey roses. Dasha Caffrey Photography captured the beauty and all of the love on the day in the west of Ireland.

Congratulations to Kelsey and Angus!

Secret Garden at Castle Durrow

Well I just enjoyed meeting, getting to know and helping this couple so so much. Rebecca and John are just amazing together and each great fun people on their own.

Although it seemed every time I met Rebecca we ended up laughing our heads off at something. Whether she was exhausted from her flight from Boston or on one of our many phone calls. There were always lots of giggles.

Their meeting was pretty classic. He is Irish and they met when she was here in Ireland on vacation and a few days turned into John moving to America and the two sharing into a lifetime together.

With supportive wonderful families and lots of love they planned their beautiful Secret Garden destination wedding {with a little help from me} at Castle Durrow in Co Laois.

The wedding was in September and just HAD to be outside in the elaborate gardens and although the day looked cloudy, there was no rain forecast so we went for it! A peaceful, beautiful outdoor wedding in the garden!

Have a look at the day as Shane O’Neill from Aspect Photography saw it unfold.

The outdoor ceremony location was surrounded by tall hedges hidden with in Castle Durrow’s lush gardens and there were lots of signs to lead guests to find it. we had the ceremony laid out so they were not only surrounded by the greenery but by their families and friends with wildflowers in the centre.

Thanks to Marie and everyone at Castle Durrow, Shane for the photos and The Informal Florist for adding even more beauty.

A Kilkenny Manor House Wedding

Sheila and Daniel were an elegant couple from Texas bringing 50 of their nearest and dearest to their destination wedding to Ireland. For the wedding day Sheila wanted to create a romantic, relaxed, beautiful event. Blushes, soft pinks creams, taupes and gold came into their wedding color palette and worked perfectly with the decor and style at Mount Juliet Estate in Kilkenny, Ireland.  {By the way, I LOVE it there!}

The day was as stunning and fun as the couple had hoped. Have a look at their wedding video by Red Sheep Cinema who are destination wedding cinematographers. I hardly noticed them on the day and yet they got the most wonderful footage.

Have a lookie!

Daniel & Sheila from redsheep on Vimeo. And you may even catch a glimpse of a normally camera shy me!

We had a wonderful team on the day with flowers were by Jill at Wild Floral Couture, make up by Dawn Ryan  and hair by Christine Murphy. That amazing hand painted cake {it was chocolate fudge cake with Ferrero Rocher filling and Chocolate buttercream and coffee with Baileys and white chocolate buttercream. argh-mazing!} was by The Artful Bakery.

For now, I’ll just let you enjoy!
