Recently as I was perusing the web, I came across yet another great inspiration in Rhiannon Banda-Scott’s blog, Hey Gorgeous. Rhiannon is a Multimedia Journalist {sound serious but her blog is not} and her blog is full of lovely little things about life like weddings {yea!} shoes {yea! Again!} and just all things pretty and beautiful.
Most inspirational to me is a project Rhiannon has begun called Beautiful State of Mind. It is about the way females perceive themselves and what they define as being beautiful – and not necessarily in the traditional sense. Rhiannon feels, along with hundreds of other females, that often she can’t even begin to measure up to what society has deemed beautiful and finds it disheartening but she is doing a small part to try and change this by collecting information on women who are willing to send in a photo and a few paragraphs about what makes them beautiful. She will edit and organize them and post them on a website empowering beautiful women, girls and females of all walks of life.
I love this project and have contacted Rhiannon already. You should too. There is so much more to beauty than what we see in the magazines. Most of us already know that but maybe we can inspire and empower other and especially younger women to think of beauty as more than just a facade.
Read more details about her project here and email her if you are interested in submitting a photo and few paraghaphs about yourself and what makes you beautiful here rhiannonbandascott@gmail.com
Thanks Rhiannon! I look forward to seeing it!
