2011 Review

The begining of January is a strange time isn’t it? Reflecting on the year just gone, it can be a little sad. As I put away all of my folders and files from 2011 I thought, ‘What a year!’ and was a bit sorry to see it go.

Aislinn Events had some seriously great weddings and our couples were the bomb. Love them. From Winter Wonderlands to Spring weddings on the beach, Summer tea parties and  back again. Each so very different with couples making their day their own.

We launched the Survey of Irish Bride & Grooms early in the year with Mrs.2Be which gave us fantastic information on what is important to couples and some insight on what you want and where you are getting it. With this knowledge, we as an industry, can communicate better and help you get what you want. Watch out for the survey again this year so we can monitor the trends as they change.

I was on television. Ireland AM here on TV3 to be precise. Yes, I was sittin on the sofa talking to Sinead and Mark about the results of the Survey of Irish Brides & Grooms. A little nervous at first, once we started the conversation about weddings it was all good!

It was year 2 for The Business of Weddings Ireland. A fantastic group of enthusiastic, fun and dedicated Irish wedding suppliers and vendors got together for the second year with wedding experts to talk about our businesses and learn how to reach bride, run our businesses well and get motivated. What a great time we had! – oh and we did learn a few things.

We did a stunning styled photoshoot with the most amazing suppliers. So professional and I simply can’t wait to show you!!! – watch this space!

There was huge traffic on the blog this year too. The top 5 post were………………………..

A wedding on Inishbeg

Beatuifully captured by Shane O’Neill of Aspect Photography.

Wonderful Colors

This was an American wedding shot by The Schultzes and even though I origionally posted it in 2010 it was still the second most viewed post in 2011. You must  be liking your color!

A Wedding on Coolbawn Quay was also super popular.

A great location, vintage gown and headpiece, David McClelland Photography couldn’t have gone wrong.

Lisa & Shane’s purple winter Castle wedding was next

Finally one of mine! With thanks to Aidan Olive Photography for letting me share.

And finally a Celtic Wedding styled shoot

Styled by Shannon O’Kelly {yes} it had to be Irish/Celtic themed didn’t it? Well, in any case it’s a beautiful one!

So no wonder I’m still tired! But I have to say even though I realize I will be busier in 2012, I’ll be so much more focused in 2012 that hopefully I’ll have more time for my self and the hubby. {that sounds like a New Year’s resolution doesn’t it?}

Thanks so much for a great year to all of my beautiful couples from 2011,everyone who participated in the survey and helped make it a success, commented, read & checked into the blog and attended the conference. What fabulous people and how lucky I am!

Best,

Annie
