Aislinn, pronounced Ash-lin, is the Gaelic word for dream.
Hi! I’m Annie, and I started Aislinn Events, my own dream come true, in 2009 to help couples planning weddings in Ireland from abroad. Having lived in the Emerald Isle for almost 18 years, I know the ins-and-outs of how things work here – and also distinctly remember what it felt like before I figured it all out.
I come from a service background and love helping people. That is why I’ve always set out to plan weddings, well before leaving Los Angeles for Ireland. I have extensive experience in all areas of hospitality, catering, weddings and corporate event management, and over the last 10 years, I have been involved in the planning and execution of hundreds of stunning weddings and fabulous events.
I take an active leadership role in the Irish wedding community, organizing an annual conference for bridal professionals, as well as participating in and attending wedding events around the country. Through these events I have built a comprehensive list of over 2,000 suppliers to suit any couple’s needs and budget. I am frequently asked to share my expertise on all things wedding and have appeared on Ireland AM, a national television show in Ireland, and given interviews on 98 FM Dublin, Radio Kerry and other local radio stations. My weddings have been published in Destination Weddings and Honeymoons magazine and featured on Style Me Pretty, Every Last Detail, One Lovely Day, One Fab Day, Goodbye Miss to name a few. I also initiated and created the first survey of Irish brides ever!
As for the more personal me, I believe it is vital to have fun and laugh every day. I adore beautiful things of any type and strive for perfection while accepting that no one is truly perfect. I know Ireland is a very special place and simply love living here. I also couldn’t live without wine and cheese (together or on their own!), orderliness and tidiness and amazing shoes and handbags. I love my job and strive to be not just a wedding planner to my couples, but a friend.
The very best thing about wedding planning is really seeing an event come together, from the first discussion of a bride’s vision to that moment after the wedding when the bride, groom, or a parent beams “it was everything we imagined and more!”
Have a little look around and I hope you find beauty and love in all you see.
